Vision:
PSGL envisions a strong urban community, comprised of strong individuals, which operates at a level beyond self-sufficiency. Such community will impact the world politically, socially and economically in order to improve the quality of life for themselves as well as others locally and abroad.

Mission:
In order to develop a community that has a profound political, social and economic affect on global living, PSGL is committed to developing individuals who are prepared in the area of individual, social, and intellectual leadership.  Such development is comprised of rigorous training, which emphasizes both academics and practical hands-on experience utilizing social systems naturally embedded in the lives of our leaders.

Our mission moves beyond individual students and focuses on individual leaders for world change!

Schooling:
PSGL will strategically align various social institutions of the students lives in a format that increases the level of learning and development.  As a result, the schoolwill be driven by multilevel partnerships that will allow a standards-based curriculum to come alive by core instruction, service learning, and project-based assessments.  Assessments will be the highlight of our program as it evaluates students, the program, the community, and the relationship between all three.

Educational Program
PSGL's educational program includes:

• Small School Environment- Our school provides for learning in a small school environment for grades 6-12. Starting with a student cohort of 60 and adding a group of 60 each year, enrollment will max out at 360.
• Individual Development- Students are self-directed (thinking, communicating, and acting effectively)
• Project Based Learning- Learning is interactive, student-led, and hands on.
• Service Learning- The real world becomes a classroom full of learning.
• Yearly Themes- Each year, students work to improve a different social institution.
• College Preparation- With a strong academic focus, students are prepared for postsecondary learning.
• Multiple Assessment Methods- Social change readiness is developed through authentic assessments, portfolios, and high stakes testing. Students will have the ability to prove that they can think and perform.
• Teacher Driven Management- Caring for students and learning is a priority; therefore, teachers are leaders and have a voice in the daily opperations.
• Lifelong Learner Staff Members- Teachers, staff, families, and community partners model leadership in the class and in the community, and continuously set goals for personal and professional development.
Validity of Program:
Due to the strong philosophical and structural simularities that this school has with minisota New Community School, we anticipate having great success with our students and with our mission for global change. We are proud to join with educators to make real learning happen and to affect school reform for our nation's children.
